[Geomoose-users] IE URL limit and feature editor

All:
I have discovered that Internet Explorer does not play nicely with the feature editor for more complex features. At first I could not understand why editing some features worked fine, but for others nothing at all would happen when I clicked the javascript edit link. After closer examination it appears that IE has an URL length limit of 2038 characters, which is easily surpassed with only a few dozen nodes on the polygon.
For example, a 200-meter radius circle from a shapefile may have 101 nodes, and the total number of characters to describe this feature, according to the javascript edit link, is 4393, well beyond the 2038 character limit imposed by IE.
I have not experienced this particular problem in either Firefox or Chrome, but many (most) of our staff are restricted to using Internet Explorer.
Is there a known workaround?
Thanks!
