[Geomoose-users] WMS Legend size

I noticed in the demo as well that a very large legend is rendered for an ESRI ARCGIS REST service as well.  I think there might be a possibility to enhance the legend support to specify the size of the legend graphic you want to render in the table of contents.  That would likely take some additional work to implement.

Good information.  Thanks.  I think I will see if there is a way to set layer getLegendGraphic parameter defaults on Geoserver.  However, I’m not sure how defaults in any case can override user supplied parameters.

The second question – can geomoose be configured to identify against a wms?

Sounds like MapServer and GeoServer are different w.r.t. the WMS spec.

MapServer uses the height and width and bbox to compute the scale and location of what would be displayed for a map view defined by the bbox, width and height and provides a legend of the size specified in its configuration file.

My read of what you are saying GeoServer is doing is giving a legend of the size specified by the width and height parameters (and possibly doesn't support dynamic legends?)

If this is true, I'm not sure how to rectify the two behaviors.

I have set up a clean geomoose 2.6 and I am trying to add a WMS from a geoserver running on the same machine.

So far the WMS appears fine when I turn it on.

The legend comes in really large…  938x492 (see attached).  Where is that configured from?  The legend html result is below.
Also, it doesn’t appear that the legend has any label.  It just shows the symbol.
What are my next steps for getting an identify result from a WMS?
