[Geomoose-users] GeoMoose Catalog- groups and sub-groups- on and off

In the prior version of GeoMoose a group folder toggle was there. Not sure if that is still supported or not. Here is how it use to work. Not sure if that would solve what you are looking for or not?

Yes, that's what I'm attempting to do.

I think I've come up with something along the lines of what you suggest, Mark. I put the NAIP 2011 imagery, and the index for it, in a group (MapServer map group, not Mapbook.xml group), called NAIP_2011. Long story short, a user can click one radio button to view only the NAIP 2011 imagery, or click another button to get the imagery with the index superimposed on top. If you click a radio button for some other layer, all that NAIP 2011 stuff turns off completely.

It takes a bit of crafting with the .map files, but so far appears to work.

Hello,

I think I know what Bob is trying to explain. At one time I did want to try something similar, but I am not sure if the catalog works that way. Anyways, what I had envisioned is having the ability to turn on or off groups of layers. For example, using the example catalog below, I would like to be able to turn off the P&Z group using a single click. When a user turns the P&Z group back on, GeoMOOSE will know which sub layers were on and which were off. This is similar functionality to what ArcGIS does with its layer groups. I don't know if GeoMOOSE can do this, and if it can let me know :)

Assessor Layers
-Assessor sub layers
P&Z Layers
-zoning
-septic
Highway Dept Layers
-road plans
-bridges
Baselayers
-roads, rivers, parcels, etc
Backgrounds

What you can try instead is to attach multiple sources to one checkbox in the catalog. For example:

<layer title="Image and Grid 1" src="myimage/1:mygrid/1"/>
<layer title="Image and Grid 2" src="myimage/2:mygrid/2"/>

I'm putting together an application which has a number of orthoimagery layers. For each of these image layers, there is a corresponding index layer (i.e., a grid where each cell corresponds to each individual image). So I took all the image layers and put them in the <catalog> section as a group, multiple=false.

Now, for each image layer, I want to create another group- each of these groups will have an image layer and an index layer. I want to allow multiple=true, so you can turn the photos and the index on or off at will. So far, so good.

Here's the hitch:
If I decide to select another ortho layer (subgroup, with images and index), I want to turn off the previously selected group. This does not happen when I try to select a new group. How can I do this? Not sure if this all makes sense, I'd be happy to explain further.
