[Geomoose-users] More WMS printing woes

Well, I think we’re on the right track- as a quick experiment I just resized my browser to a small window, then tried to print with the problem layers turned on. It still took a while to compose, but the map did compose.

I might be remembering old versions, but I thought it was an option on the print service.

That makes sense- what’s the best way, if any, to reduce that? Looking on print.php now for a clue.

My guess is printing is requesting a larger image size (to print at a higher DPI than displayed on the screen) and some of the WMS servers/layers can't deal with the larger size.

I am having selective problems getting a printable map when using WMS services. It seems that some of my base layers, which are WMS, will time out when I try the print tool. But not all of them. The ones that do work seem to take a while for the print tool to work. MapServer layers seem to work better.
The WMS supports the same projection as my application is in, and as mentioned, some layers of the service do work while others time out. I’m trying to diagnose what is different about those layers, but does anyone have any suggestions on that?
