[GeoMoose-users] trying shp download tool

I haven’t implemented that like the metadata tool before.

I’ve implemented this before as an index layer that contained the
boundaries (and names, some metadata, etc) of the underlying datasets.
Then part of the identify and/or search templates on the index layer can
contain the download link(s).

One no change option would be to put the link to the shapefile (zipped
shapefile?) in your metadata.

Another potential option is WFS can be repurposed (by sending the right
parameters) as a clip and ship service to download various file types, but
that relies on the data being hosted by an appropriately configured WFS
server.  This can be particularly useful when the source data is in a
database or other live source rather than static files.
