The document is old but the basic process hasn’t really changed.

GeoMoose proper only needs to be extracted into a web root.  It doesn’t
really matter what web server is used as it is just static files.  This can
be useful if all your datasets are from external sources (WMS/WFS/etc.)

GeoMoose+MapServer (to serve GIS data from the same server).  MapServer and
generally Apache also need to be installed.  The gm3-demo-data distribution
contains the sample data and mapfiles used in the GeoMoose demo and can be
used as a starting point for setting up MapSever for use with GeoMoose.
