Hello Alessio,
Thank you for your help! I´ve used this python snippet:
import pip
from subprocess import call
for dist in pip.get_installed_distributions():
call("pip install --upgrade " + dist.project_name, shell=True)
to upgrade all my pip packages and this made the updatelayers command work.

There should be a fix for SLDs on latest gsconfig versions.
Try to update the dependencies with
pip install -e .
from the GeoNode updated folder.
I'll check the issue though.
