[GeoNode-devel] GeoServer Custer with EFS

Good afternoon.
Has anyone used Amazon Elastic File System with GeoServer and/or GeoNode
before?
https://aws.amazon.com/efs/
Hypothetically, could we mount EFS as read-write for a EC2 instance of
GeoNode with a local "master" GeoServer and mount EFS as read-only for a
cluster of GeoServers on other EC2s?
Would this work for heavy read-only workloads, such as rendering rasters
using WMS from the "slave" GeoServers? Or does EFS slow down for the
master, too?
Side note, hazelcast-based clustering seems too complicated.
Thanks for any help or thoughts you can offer.
Regards,
