That's strange,
the projection should be the same, so you shouldn't see any difference from
the client side.

Are 100% sure the projection of your data is 3857? I mean, are you sure
that the attached PRJ is well formed and the data is really projected in
3857?

Maybe, if possible, it would be very useful to take a look at one data
sample.
