[Geoprisma-users] Any thoughts on a geoprisma lite?

Hi all,

I have been working with Thomas Bonfort on mod_geocache. I am thinking
that there is a need to the following:

A simple cache level auth mechanism.

The use case that I'm thinking about is an application portal where a
user logs into the portal and gets an application based on say
OpenLayers that pulls tiles from mod_geocache or potentially some other
cache.

The cache may or may not be on in the same domain as the application
(origin issues), the cache might be a 3rd party cache or it might be
hosted locally. Regardless, the idea being the the client application
passes an application token and the user login token in the tile
request, these get pulled off and authenticated before the tile is returned.

The security aspects of this sounds a lot like geoprisma, but geoprisma
also feels like it is too heavyweight and intrusive.

So my question(s) are:

1. Can this be done with geoprisma? How light-weight is it?
2. What are your thoughts on doing this as an apache2 module?
3. Are you aware of other tools well suited for this?

Thoughts?
