Good news: bringing the Buffer package in sync with JTS-1.9+
results in some buffer operations completing in 1/20 of the time
they used to.
In particular, the fme.xml testcase under tests/xmltester runs now in
1.04 seconds while it took ~ 21.89 in geos-3.1.0.
This is due to both robustness and performance improvements.
Robustness results in the operation being performed only once
rather than 3 times each at reduced precision. Performance still
beats this much lower the nominal 7 seconds you get by dividing
the original time.
Time for testing some known dataset here.
Paul, where can I find the dataset you used at the Toronto Sprint
for such tests ?
