#502: PostGIS crashes on ST_Buffer query (possibly due to a bug in geos)
-------------------------------------------------+--------------------------
Reporter: royl | Owner: geos-devel@…
Type: defect | Status: closed
Priority: major | Milestone: 3.4.0
Component: Default | Version: svn-trunk
Severity: Critical | Resolution: duplicate
Keywords: ST_Buffer, LINESTRING buffer, crash |
-------------------------------------------------+--------------------------
Changes (by strk):
* status: new => closed
* resolution: => duplicate
Comment:
This case exposes a memory issue with GEOS. It consumes more than 7Gb of
memory and thus never completes. This was tested with current development
version in the 3.3 branch as of r3539.
Should be slightly better in trunk (r3540) but still memory hungry.
I'd say this is a duplicate of issue #383
