[geos-devel] self-contained commit logs

To all committers,
may I ask to keep commit logs as much as possible self-contained ?
Commit logs like this:

    Add test for #588

don't tell anything about the commit w/out fetching a web page,
which defeats the purpose of a distributed version control system
like git...

Adding external references is fine but please don't omit the main
object of the change. For example this is a good one:

    Add envelope test to Distance::segmentToSegment

    JTS commit r652
    Fixes Trac #584
