[Geotiff] Oblique Equirectangular?

I work on visualizing Earth Science datasets and often the most
convenient
(or only) way to import global data images into general purpose 3D
modeling
programs is to put the data into an Equirectangular projection. For
polar
datasets such as sea ice or ozone, where it would be inconvenient to
have
the data of interest in the most distorted part of the map, I've been
using
two oblique forms. One has either 90 or -90 as the latitude of
origin and
the other keeps lon=0,lat=0 as the origin but rotates/skews 90 degrees
about the origin.

Is there any way to encode this type of projection in geotiff tags?
