[Geotiff] about libgeotiff

hi 
I'm a member of rescue simulation team and we should make s geotiff map .
I gave "libgeotiff-1.2.4.tar.gz" and it's header files and some library but it doesn't run in vc++ and have a linkers error about some functions that exist in my header.
Can you help to make a geotiff map in vc++
