SEO: Fix HTML validity errors and heading hierarchy (#680)
* seo: Fix HTML validity errors (#526)
Resolve every non-heading W3C validator error across the site (home, download,
news, about, support, commercial, events, learn), rebased on the current master
including the redesigned download page:
- favicon <link sizes> used an invalid rel; use rel="icon" type="image/png"
- dropdown menu had aria-labelledby on a generic <div>; add role="menu" and
role="menuitem"
- home page: <main> nested in <section> became a <div>; removed orphan itemprop
(JSON-LD covers it); moved <img width="N%"> to inline style
- osgeo/numfocus/zenodo/learn images and iframes: percentage width moved to style
- learn: a <span> wrapped block content (.Content); changed to <div>
- download: the download button was an <a type="button"> (invalid); dropped the
attribute (the dropdown <button> keeps its valid type)
- download tabs: scope auto-generated heading IDs per tab so repeated headings
across OS tabs no longer produce duplicate IDs
- events: date range is not a machine time; use <span> not <time>
- news/about/support: removed duplicate </body></html> and a stray </section>,
closed an unclosed container <div>
- support: company logos gained alt text and dropped the invalid float:center
Verified with the W3C Nu validator against a Hugo 0.113.0 build: only
heading-level skips remain, handled in the #520 branch.
* seo: Fix heading hierarchy and add a page h1 (#520)
Give every page a single top-level <h1> with real text and remove the
heading-level skips flagged by the W3C validator:
- promote the top <h2 class="page-title|section-title"> to <h1> across the
section and single templates (.page-title/.section-title are class-based, so
the look is unchanged; matches about/governance and about/roadmap)
- home page: add visually-hidden heading text inside the logo <h1>; promote the
topic cards from h3 to h2
- footer: the column titles were <h6> after h3 content; use <h2 class="h6 ...">
to keep the small look without skipping levels
- promote direct sub-headings (about sub-pages, company names, event titles,
learn cards) so nothing jumps h1->h3 or h2->h4
- content: fix heading levels in the learn and contribute index pages
Verified per page with the W3C Nu validator on a Hugo 0.113.0 build: home,
about, download, news, learn, contribute, support, commercial and events are
clean. Follow-ups (separate): the brand page's brandLogo/button shortcodes and
a microdata <figure> on the addons page.

SCSS: remove dead selectors, files, and token variables (#698)
Deletes the search-form and jQuery-UI leftovers (both features removed
long ago), 56 rule blocks with no usage in layouts, content, data, or
JS (verified by scripted grep), the shadowed body and .grass-bg-image
duplicates in main.scss, and 39 unreferenced token variables. Adds a
README note listing the runtime-injected selector families a dead-code
pass must not touch.
Compiled css/style.css is the only output file that changes (5.8 kB
smaller); every removed class is absent from the built site.

SCSS: dedupe, bug fixes, tokens, and breakpoints (#699)
* SCSS: fix .gitter-banner missing semicolon
Sass parsed the nested a rule as nested-property syntax, emitting
padding-text-decoration/padding-color instead of styling the banner
links.
* SCSS: merge duplicate .btn-grass blocks
The two blocks were identical except the first also sets
margin-bottom, which nothing overrides; keeping the first preserves
the computed styles.
* SCSS: drop the global .card height clamps
Two competing global rules forced every Bootstrap card to a fixed
height (4rem !important winning over a shadowed 5rem). Cards now size
to their content. Needs a visual check on /download and /about/brand.
* SCSS: consolidate the duplicated timeline blocks
Two near-duplicate rule sets styled the history-page timeline; the
merged rules reproduce the exact cascade result of the pair. The
never-winning hardcoded #0039a6 values are gone (the visible dot and
line color was and remains the brand alt green).
* SCSS: use the Font Awesome 7 family name
The package is FA7; the old name only resolves through FA's compat
font-face aliases.
* SCSS: overlay tokens, drop IE filters and a dead red link rule
The standard overlay gradient now derives from $gs-primary-color like
its prefixed twins (identical output). The two IE DXImageTransform
filters are dead weight (one interpolated invalid rgba values).
a.external has no matching markup anywhere; the red rule is gone.
* SCSS: use Bootstrap breakpoint mixins for theme media queries
The hand-written 991px and 992px max-width queries disagreed by a
pixel; all now compile to Bootstrap's lg boundary (991.98px), and the
576px block to sm. The three identical yard-sign min-width blocks
collapse to the one 600px threshold.
* SCSS: derive ramp steps from shared alpha constants
The hand-written rgba steps in _colors.scss and the alpha map in
_css-variables.scss encoded the same three constants twice; both now
read from $gs-alpha-*. Compiled CSS is byte-identical. The support
color's historical --dark/--light naming is documented in place.

data: Add new sample datasets (#712)
This adds the new Raleigh (NC) and Flagstaff (AZ) datasets and reorganizes the full and basic NC and Spearfish under legacy datasets preserving the NC link. The transition to the new dataset in manual pages still needs to be done, but the download page is now up to date with GUI. A new mention of g.download.project is included and Quick link heading is removed from the top of the file (while the links are kept).

learn: Update learning page content and redesign (#711)
* Add new resources and prefer project-maintained resources on the Learn page (linked from the index).
* Replace the tile list with "Start here / Go deeper" resource cards (tutorials, YouTube channel, manuals, wiki, books) and a featured row (at this point: Jupyter on Windows tutorial, Python API webinar, key concepts).
* Embed a GRASS channel playlist as the intro video (currently the only playlist with project-uploaded videos).
* For featured row, use combo of embedded videos (for a preview), images, and icons.
* Link the Binder listing of the repository notebooks instead (temporary until a non-Binder list exists, wiki is not as update to date, grass-tutorials don't have a list or category).
