Intergraph and RLE files to GRASS

Has anyone had a sucessful experience converting intergraphs raster files (RLE files) to grass 
the only information i can get from intergraph concerning their file format is that "it is proprietary information".  The conversion of the vector files through DXF files seems real straight forward, but there does not seem to be an equivilent raster function.
