Geting XGRASS working on a SUN

Has anyone managed to get XGRASS working on a standard SUN. I believe 
XGRASS needs Motif but I believe that SUN's come with OpenLook. Is there 
anyway to compile XGRASS such that it can use OpenLook instead of Motif ?

If there is can you make any instructions fairly fool proof - I'm OKish 
on C but XWindows is totally unknown to me.
