S.menu or S.to.rast

Hi
	I am using s.to.rast to convert a number of meterological stations
to a raster grid so point in polygon (of sorts) searches via masking can be 
done.  While the s.menu function to find duplicate points has proved useful, 
another item that is missing would be the option to find points which would
fall into the same cell upon using s.to.rast and the current g.region.  
	Has anyone already developed a script or similiar tool for determining
this information?
