Neel,

The naming convention for ARC/INFO files is as follows:

raster maps (polygons)
	<file>.pol - the lines to be imported using the generate command
	<file>.lab - the point attribute information
	<file>.txt - the text attribute information

vector maps
	<file>.lin - line info
	<file>.txt
		*** no such thing as <file>.lab; non-sequitor

These just have to be in the right place for ARC to see them when issuing
the generate commands.
