[GRASS5] problem with gis library - timestamp

I have a program that links to the gis library, and when attempting
to compile it, I get errors relating to the timestamp.c and sites.c
code, all dealing with undefined references to "datetime_copy"
"datetime_format" "datetime_scan" and "datetime_copy".  

Anyone know what is wrong?
