[GRASS5] XDRIVER / Display problem

Unfortunately I have not been able to repeat your error as you indicated
but I have been able to partially run down the error I was getting

The problem I was seeing (on RH 6.2 intel)
Error  G_malloc: out of memory

Is (was) repeatable with CELL and HTMLMAP and of course XDRIVER
(I suspect that your error will be likewise repeatable)

I traced it to (I stopped before getting to the end)
src/libes/gis/set_window.c

G_set_window () 


The problem is not set_window but some function called by it.

I want to look at some source files from a couple of weeks ago.
I don't have historical files at home, so it will have to wait for
tomorrow.

I will mail you as soon as I find out more.

BTW 

g.region rast=...
or some part of the clipping code
aren't working correctly now.

I get random scan rows shifted to the right.
