[GRASS5] grass metadata

Hi,

i wrote a tcl script to extract all available metadata for a grass
location to a html-file. 
(no standard, no sgml/xml, just a human-readable html-file)

I have the following questions:
how can i read the history for a vector file (from tcl)?
what does the colr2 directory mean?
what is stored in the directory bdlg?
how do i interpret the file in COMBINE?

If there is interest i can check in the script in CVS.
