[GRASS5] ps.map & patterns

Hi,
I was happy to read that vector patterns should be possible in g5.0.0. But:

trying 

vect catchbound
  acolor 255 255 200
  pat pat.loru
  pwitdh 2
  end

and variations results in 

GRASS:~/p/hydro/gis > ps.map in=precPlot.sh out=test.ps

PS-PAINT: PostScript painter "a4" selected.
ERROR: pat : illegal request


Any hints, comments?
