[GRASS5] GRASS raster "live links" proposal

Just very briefly - some of this thinking is *very* similar to John
Chambers "Green Book" connections, which are mostly in R. They can
"connect" to sockets, pipes, files, URL, and (I think in Omegahat) to
databases. Since the R functions etc. are GPL/LGPL, there may be things to
learn from looking at the ways this has been done there.
