We should make these of course.

AFAIK mostly Glynn postponed the checkin of his code changes.
Most of the other changes does not seem to be release critical.

It may be too late for 5.0.0 then...
or is it release critical?

We should be as close to 5.0.0pre4 as we can, 
because this was tested a lot.
Any change we make might introduce other bugs.
