Subject: r.in.tiff segfaults

Platform: GNU/Linux/i386
grass obtained from: Mirror of Trento site
grass binary for platform: Compiled from Sources
GRASS Version: cvs_snapshot_relbranchMar_22_2

r.in.tiff gives me a segment fault when I run it with no arguments.
