It isn't that it will be problematic; right now 5.3 is bloated with all
sorts of redundant and unused code. 5.7 gives us the opportunity to make
the source code lean, mean, and better organized. Any opportunity to
consolidate redundant code should be taken in my opinion. This doesn't
mean that we can't have a d.pan command, just that behind the scenes
the d.zoom code should do the work.
