I really have no idea. Sounds like a problem with your Cygwin
installation. GRASS runs a lot better on Linux and it is not hard to set
up a dual boot system.

Subject: Re: information needed about Grass and TclTK
Hi,
i am trying to run GRASS and tcltkgrass for the first time.
Running startxwin.bat open two windows: one for error messge like: xfree86config is not supported, MIT-SHM disabled due to kernel support, xfree86-Bigfont disabled extension local client optimisation disabled due to lack of shared memory support in kernel etc..
in cygwin windows the following message is displayed: Run is not recognised as a internal command (translate from french)
If i try to lunch tcltkgrass by typing tcltkgrass&: the following message is displayed: Application initialization failed: could not connect to display "localhost:0", Error in startup script: invalide command name "bind"
Hoping i give you enough information.
