Hi all.
This mine may be a stupid question-in case, please forgive me.
R has a very nice mechanism with which the program itself
downloads a required addon from the cran repository, compile it, and
installs. The user then is not required to recompile the main program every
time (s)he has to use a non-standard module, and does not depend on packagers
(who may not be interested in packaging a rarely used modult). This makes R a
very open environment, and as a result the number of addons increases
constantly.
Would it be feasible to implement such a mechanism in grass, perhaps using
code from R?
All the best.
