[GRASS5] Grass newbies in dire straits

It's not exactly clear what you want to do. However, take a look at my 
d.out.png script. It is distributed with GRASS 5.3 and 5.7 and can also 
be found on my website <www.public.asu.edu/~cmbarton/grass.htm>

It allows you to output a raster PNG image of the current display 
monitor at single, double, and quad resolution. If you want to set the 
monitor to a specific size prior to this, use d.monsize.
