Yes, something like this, which then reports the following list:

ls $GISBASE/etc/colors
aspect  bcyr  byg  byr  elevation  evi  grey  gyr  rainbow  ramp  ryg  slope  srtm  terrain  wave

Not sure how to implement that (I tried but didn't manage).
