Subject: gism2: Querying the map doesn't work

Platform: GNU/Linux/x86
grass obtained from: CVS
grass binary for platform: Compiled from Sources
GRASS Version: grass6 cvs 20060117

When trying to query a vector map, an "Application error" window opens, with the detailed message

couldn't execute "v.what": no such file or directory
couldn't execute "v.what": no such file or directory
    while executing
"error $fh"
    (procedure "run_panel" line 9)
    invoked from within
"run_panel $cmd"
    (procedure "GmVector::query" line 33)
    invoked from within
"GmVector::query $sel $east $north"
    ("vector" arm line 2)
    invoked from within
"switch $type {
        raster {
            GmRaster::query $sel $east $north
        }
        labels {
            GmLabels::query $sel $east $north..."
    (procedure "GmTree::query" line 11)
    invoked from within
"GmTree::query $mon $east $north"
    (procedure "mapcan::startquery" line 8)
    invoked from within
"mapcan::startquery $mon 520 196"
    (command bound to event)

Querying a raster map works ok. From the command line, I can access the executables v.what.vect and v.what.rast but no v.what .

Greetings,

Harri Kiiskinen
