Subject: Can't create new location

Platform: Mac OSX
grass obtained from: Trento Italy site
grass binary for platform: Downloaded precompiled Binaries
GRASS Version: g.version

I can't create a new location. After I fill in the parameters for location, database, and mapset and push esc return, nothing happens, and I can't proceed.
