good to know you back!
Just a quick comment: this message would be useful on the list
as well. It's always a pity if only fractions of important
comments reach the list, hard to get the full picture /even
if one wants to gather old discussion.
Maybe you want to "publish" this message to grass-dev?

PS: for i.ortho.photo also the DEM elevation needs to be
extracted when collecting GCPs: so x,y,z instead of x,y
