Right. CVS was started 31 Dec 1999 only.
BTW: Out of interest for you, but I received a copy of GRASS 3 (!)
recently and
added it to the server.


You will be interested in Radim's work to compare the various versions
of the
pre-CVS times:

He made a file-by-file comparison, starting with 4.1.5.
