This is still broken for me in the latest CVS. (Debian/stable)

# with DEBUG set to 1 in nviz2.2_script
G63> GRASS_WISH=wish8.3 nviz -q

Adding panels from /usr/local/src/grass/grass63/dist.i686-pc-linux-gnu/etc/nviz2.2/scripts
Nv_(panels)
Build toplevel window
toplevel made
info widget made
panel area made
file menu made
Help menu made
disabled made
Nv_mkConfigMenu 1
Nv_mkConfigMenu 2 0 Position
Nv_mkConfigMenu 2 1 Lighting
Nv_mkConfigMenu 2 2 Background Color
Nv_mkConfigMenu 2 3 Label
Nv_mkConfigMenu 2 4 Decorations
Nv_mkPanelMenu 1
%

closing the "Please wait.." lets me get to File->Quit, dragging the
"Please wait.." window over the canvas makes a 3d surface shudder in the
background if elev=mapname was given.

thanks,
Hamish
