It's a WM bug, but one which isn't likely to affect applications other
than XDRIVER. Most X applications either never set size hints or
always them. XDRIVER only sets them while a client is running.

For another example of WMs failing to handle non-trivial use of size
hints, see the "xemacs trouble maximizing window" thread(s) at:

Both fluxbox and metacity are identified as failing to handle that one
correctly; I never had any trouble with FVWM.
