Did anyone here try to get a recent version of GRASS CVS running under
Cygwin?
I got GDAL and GRASS to compile just fine, but when I want to start ANY
GRASS module that uses the GDAL libs directly or get linked to Vlib
which in turn is linked to GDAL.
I get nothing at all. Really: nothing at all, no error message, nothing.
Just get kicked to the prompt again. --help does not provoke a reaction,
neither does any other option. It seems that the modules just die
silently. Great.
GDAL itself seems to work fine. I can e.g. use ogr2ogr w/o problems.
I tried all GDAL versions from 1.3.1 to 1.4.2 with GRASS support built
in and using the gdal-grass plugin. Nothing.
I tried down and upgrading the binutils to several different versions.
Doesn't help.
I tried compiling absolutely minimal versions of both GRASS and GDAL.
No luck, either.
How hard can it be to get a recent version of GRASS to SOMEHOW run under
Windows?
