[GRASS-dev] still some intermittent instability in layer management

Martin,
I've run into some intermittent instability in layer management since the
switch to the new approach a few weeks back. I don't know what triggers it,
so I'm not much help but thought you should keep a watch for it too.
Once in a while, a layer won't go away--unchecking it or even deleting it
from the layer tree are insufficient to make it not display. I'm guessing
it's somehow stuck in the layer list. I tried to make a force render button
awhile back but can't really see that it does anything different. But we
need something to force a complete refresh if needed. Not urgent, but
something to be on the lookout for.
