Hi Wolf,

indeed, a wonderful list of ideas - it's great to see this.

Like the others I would opt for "label position" (you will gain
most kudos like that in the GFOSS world :-)

The DP generalization might be rather easily solved using
the GMT/GSHHS code which probably needs "only" an update to
match the GRASS vector structure.

But labeling is a real problem for now.
