No subject

problems are generic problems, e.g. ignoring the ellipsoid altogether,
rather than anything specific to "sphere".

I was primarily concerned about problems related to FP exceptions,
domain errors, infinite values, NaNs, or complete garbage (due to code
not checking for success/failure); IOW, division by zero, log(zero)
etc.

Anything else is likely to be a problem regardless of whether or not
the "sphere" ellipsoid is allowed.
