 builds fine for me. What version of python/swig/grass?

 > The syntax error in interfaces/gisdefs.i points to this line:

 for me line 116 of interfaces/gisdefs.i is like:
 {{{
  /* auto_mask.c */
  int G__check_for_auto_masking(void);
 }}}

 'make clean' in the swig/python dir and try again?
