As is normally the case, the first error is what's relevant:

Undefined symbols:
  "_iconv", referenced from:
      _print_escaped_for_xml in parser_interface.o
  "_iconv_close", referenced from:
      _print_escaped_for_xml in parser_interface.o
  "_iconv_open", referenced from:
      _print_escaped_for_xml in parser_interface.o

Obviously, if lib/gis fails to compile, the rest of GRASS is toast.
