 I've compared r.in.wms in Grass64-source and in Grass65-source, there only
 some lines different in both (see attached patch).

 this patch together with the fix for the missing GDAL_DATA variable,
 r.in.wms is also working with all the examples in the man-page for the
 WinGrass64-installer. I would vote for port this two fixes to Grass64.

 so then only the issue with white spaces, +proj4-terms and grid shift-
 files seems to remain.
