[GRASS-dev] parallelizing GRASS modules

Just random notice on topic.

A few day's a go I was looking for a new GIS related publications and
stumbled on this one about parallel v.surf.idw implementation using
MPI:
"Explorations of the implementation of a parallel IDW interpolation
algorithm in a Linux cluster-based parallel GIS" by Fang Huang,
Dingsheng Liu, Xicheng Tan, Jian Wang, Yunping Chen, Binbin He in
Computers & Geosciences 37 (2011) 426–434

They are claiming up to 6x speed up of IDW.
