 Martin,

 I tried your suggestion, but the error occurs again. There were no errors
 in configure or make.

 To be more precise, when I type 'grass65 -gui', I get the location
 selector gui, but after selection of location and mapset, the same error I
 quoted occurs on the command line.

 Any other suggestions?
