 Has any progress been made on this topic? I recently re-computed an annual
 global radiance calculation with GRASS7 (previously with GRASS65), using
 only the elevation input (previously used elev, slope, aspect). The
 results were astounding. Zooming into a smaller region and checking, it
 appears as if the reflected radiance raster was all 0s and the diffuse
 radiance raster was a vertical gradient across the region-- with no
 apparent influence from the local terrain. When using slope and aspect
 inputs the output appears to be correct.

 I'll work up examples tonight and re-post with figures, code, and the DEM
 in question.
