 Not sure why winGRASS standalone is looking up the osgeo4W directory.

 No. I use 6.4.SVN from 6.4.svn:
 - standalone nightly: http://wingrass.fsv.cvut.cz/grass64/
 - OSGeo4W nightly: http://wingrass.fsv.cvut.cz/grass64/osgeo4w/

 Have winGRASS and OSGeo4W installed on my machine
