[GRASS-dev] checking volume display

it looks like r3.in ascii is broken in GRASS6.4.3
I replaced the file on the web site with an unzipped file
http://skagit.meas.ncsu.edu/~helena/grasswork/JR_7408MR_2m_t70.asci
which imports OK in GRASS7

100%
but it fails to import in grass6.4.3

ERROR: asciiToG3d: read failed
but file created in grass7 and exported in grass6.4.3 also fails to import
